Teesside juniors took part in an evening show in Glasgow.

We had three of our junior fighter compete in Scotland for the WKA Anglo Scottish titles.

Jordan Ferrie : This was a big step up for Jordon, to date all he had done was club sparring, weighing in @ 42 Kilos he did the club proud and all 3 round were contested at a fast pace which he stood up to well. Jordon lost on a very narrow point’s decision and can be very pleased with his efforts.

Jessica Nilsson: This was Jessica's first Thai Boxing ring experience and was fighting @ 48kilos, her opponent weighed in a bit heavier @ 51 kilos. Jessica from the off showed she was ready for anything that came her way and won in a convincing point win.

Jack Cooper: This was Jack’s first ring experience and he was fighting @ 52 Kilos. Jack’s opponent was very strong in the first round but jack dominated the second round with the third round being even resulting in a draw. Their will be a rematch early next year for Jack.

Jonathan McAskill fights at cruiser weight. Won, one minute into the second round with a stopage this was under amatuer full muay thai rules. This was Jonathan's first fight and he showed talent well beyond the 2 months he has been training Muay Thai.

Will Connelly fights at welterweight. Won, 10 seconds into the first round with a stopage this was under amatuer full muay thai rules. This was Wills first fight in Muay Thai and again showed great skill. Will has been training in Muay Thai for 4 months.

Patrick Homes fights at welterweight. Draw, this was a hard fought contest and after the five rounds both fighters could not be seperated on points, this was under amatuer full muay thai rules. Patrick has been training Muay Thai for 2 years.

Leif Taggart fights at Featherweight. Won after 4 rounds on points for the IKF Amatuer Featherweight World Title. Leif fought Hakan Yildiz from Turkey. This was fought under IKF Olypic Scoring Rules. Leif was behind on points going into the fourth round but Hakan tired toward the end of the forth round and Leif continued to pressure and score well and grasped the victory in the last second of the fourth round.

Leif Taggart wins Golden Belt "Atom Weight" Amatuer World Title

Leifs extensive training on the run up to this fight had set him apart from his American competitor. The first round of the fight was close until the last 20 second when Leif executed a spinning back kick and then went on to push the win for the first round. Rounds 2 and 3 were hard contested but Leif again was a clear winner and Leif showed a different class in rounds 4 and 5.

Great win for Leif and for Teesside Thai Boxing.
